Portee is at the epicentre for the breeding of the Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat. This solid little animal digs a burrow in the ground, moving incredible amounts of earth. A nocturnal, this animal is the fauna emblem of South Australia, and very cute too! There are also kangaroos and emus to photograph, often at close range. Bring plenty of film, so much to capture.
